Exclusive Private Van Tour from Civitavecchia for Cruise Ship Passengers

Rome, Viterbo, and the Etruscan volcanic landscape

Leave the world of large cruise ships behind for a few hours and discover the authentic heart of Italy—peaceful, green, historic, and full of charm.

This exclusive private tour departing from Civitavecchia takes you through the impressive volcanic landscapes of northern Lazio, past Etruscan sites, medieval towns, and tranquil lakes, all the way to Viterbo and back via the historic Via Cassia, with a brief detour to Rome and the coast.

Shortly after leaving the port, we’ll head off the main tourist routes and drive along the ancient Via Aurelia toward the lush volcanic landscapes between the coast and the mountains. There, you’ll discover a completely different side of Italy: forests, nature, fresh air, small villages, and sweeping views far from the crowds.

One of the first highlights is the area around Lake Bracciano—one of Italy’s most beautiful volcanic lake landscapes. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet, clear water, nature, and the true Italian way of life.

We then continue on to Capranica, a charming medieval town built of tuff stone, with narrow streets, historic houses, and a unique atmosphere that blends nature and history.

The route then continues to the historic papal city of Viterbo, with its medieval neighborhoods, small cafés, and authentic restaurants. Here, you’ll have time for a relaxing break featuring Mediterranean cuisine, fresh regional produce, light and healthy meals, Italian coffee, or an aperitivo.

On the way back, we’ll finally visit Sutri, with its famous Etruscan amphitheater and historic burial sites nestled amid the rolling green hills.

Upon request, we can stop at:

-relaxing strolls through medieval old towns,

-Walks past Etruscan tombs and burial mounds,

-Tours of Etruscan sites,

- Italian espresso or cappuccino,

-regional specialties,

-Wine or an aperitif,

-light Mediterranean cuisine, without heavy tourist buffets,

-or simply a break in nature, with peace and quiet, fresh air, good internet, and a pleasant atmosphere.

The return trip is a relaxing drive along the Via Cassia, with a brief detour to Rome, before heading back to Civitavecchia to board the ship.

This tour is ideal for cruise passengers who:
